About

Linda provides a one-on-one unique learning experience. Let your ideas blossom.

Born and raised in Aberdeen, Linda Burns’ first show was the Havre de Grace Art show in 1963, its inaugural year. Later, she showed her macrame jewelry and wall hangings at new shows, such as the Bel Air Art Show in 1967. After moving to Towson in the mid 1980’s, Linda became involved with stained glass. This led to developing an inquisitiveness for layering, melting, and manipulating glass in kilns.

In 1998 she formed Hot Glass Burns with her husband after he became proficient with lampworking and glass blowing. They began collaborating on creations and selling their glass at art shows, festivals and events throughout Maryland and nearby states.

Since 2012 Ms. Burns has been the sole creative force of Hot Glass Burns. She continually seeks to learn and evolve new techniques for glass fusing. She enjoys sharing her knowledge with other glass enthusiasts and troubleshooting processes. Identifying the reasons behind why glass may have done something the fuser did not anticipate or expect is not only a challenge, but fun. Linda loves being a part of supporting a community that has a shared passion.

To be a part of this passion, curious and interested parties can come to workshops, which Ms. Burns hosts in her home studio. A variety of imagined projects come to life – flowers, birds, and sea life. Whether selling her own creations, or helping others find their inner artist, hearing peoples’ heartfelt appreciation of something lovely is deeply gratifying to Linda.
